Stinging Nettle (urtica dioica) is an herbaceous perennial flowering plant that can be found native and wild throughout areas of North America, Europe, Asia and Northern Africa. Sharp hairs on the wild nettle leaf give a potent sting (like little hypodermic needles!), hence it’s name. However, carefully harvested and dried into tea cut, leaf, nettle provides a tasty vitamin rich infusion that has been prized as a beneficial medicinal dink for centuries. Nettle tea lends a very grassy but smooth and interesting taste. It’s very pleasant steeped on it’s own or you can have fun mixing and blending with your other favourite herbs, such as lemongrass, verbena or mint! It makes a nice compliment to savory dishes such as roasted vegetables, meat dishes, cheeses or quiche! Ingredients: Tea cut Stinging Nettle from Provence, France Check with your doctor before consuming nettle if taking medications such as blood thinners, or for diabetes or heart disease.
