This Hawaiian Green Tea hails from Mauna Kea on the Big Island. It is harvested from young tender shoots at our peak harvesting time to bring out good balanced flavor. Our unique pan-fire processing gives the leaves a gently twist, refreshing green aroma and sweet taste.
beTeas has been purchasing from this small farm since 2012 because we love everything they are about. They manage their field and production without chemical fertilizers and pesticides, and have learned that purely natural and organic farming can exceed in quality and flavour and environmental benefits without the cost and restriction imposed by certification. -Allowing animals to graze (sheep, goats, etc) to take care of weeds and grass instead of using mowers and tractors to do most of weed control.
-Significantly reducing and eliminating imported organic fertilizers and mineral amendments which help increase yield and produces a more natural and cleaner flavor.  -Using animals and cover crops to naturally contribute to nutrient cycling.
