This beautifully scented organic jasmine green tea is one of our most popular selections. Its name, "Golden Dragon" represents its status among jasmine teas: golden refers to wealth and prosperity while dragon represents strength and longevity. This green tea comes from Jiangxi Province in China.
This jasmine flavour is only possible with midnight May flowers. The jasmine tree comes into bloom only during May and June. The blossom only lasts for about 12 hours and only comes out at night. About half way through the night the fragrance is at it’s peak and it is at this time the blossoms are picked and layered into the tea. By the morning most of the fragrance has disappeared from the blossom and transferred to the tea as if tea and flower have merged in perfect union.
