This version of the adored butterfly peaflower has been carefully dried and ground into a powder form while preserving its nutrients, similar to how matcha tea powders are made. While this is not authentically, 'matcha', (which is only correctly applied to actual matcha green teas), the world has been comfortable with this common understanding that this peaflower is made as a whiskable tea powder. Ours a pure powder and not blended! ;)
Suggested Blue Matcha Latte Recipe:
1 cup of unsweetened dairy-free milk of your choice
1/4 tsp of blue matcha powder (approx half of a 'perfect matcha scoop')
splash of pure vanilla extract
1 tsp pure maple syrup (2 tsp if sweeter is desired)
optional addition: dried rose petals to sprinkle on top
Butterfly Pea Flower tea is abundant in potent antioxidants, and has been studied for numerous health benefits, including its ability to help protect the skin against premature aging, protect against certain cancers, reducing inflammation and pain associated with inflammation, eye health, brain health and generally its ability to support overall vitality.
A notable attribute of Butterfly Tea is the ability to change the color of the tea liqueur by adding lemon or lime juice (any acidic substance); add a couple drops of lemon/lime juice and watch the tea liqueur change from blue, to purple, to pink, you choose the ratio! You may also change the color of the tea liqueur by infusing/blending various substances such as tea (i.e. green tea) and herbs (i.e. hibiscus).
